Michael Jakarimilena
Michael Jakarimilena (also known as Michael J) is an Indonesian singer and actor. He rose to prominence after becoming a finalist of the first season of Indonesian Idol in 2004.
Born in Jayapura, Papua, Michael’s voice reflects the vocal talents of this large, easternmost province of Indonesia. He has represented Indonesia, achieving national and international recognition having performed in Ethiopia, Australia, India, Singapore, United States of America and several other countries.
Michael J has also participated in several compilation albums in collaboration with other renown singers like Indra Lesmana (Album "Back One"), Ireng Maulana (Reaching Happiness), Ermi Kulit etc. In the "National Creative Regional Pop Song Contest 2013" aired on national TV, Michael J sang "Sio Ugude" (Oh Morning Star) and won the championship, performing on the compilation album for "Wonderful Indonesia 2014".
In addition to achievements in singing, Michael has also played in a few movies. In 2006, Michael starred in the film Denias, Senandung di Atas Awan, playing the supporting role of Denias’ father. In the movie "Bola itu Bundar" (Destiny Productions Inc, 2008) Michael had a role as one of the football players.
