Pepita Salim is an Indonesian singer and actress who recently toured with the Tony Award winning Broadway musical, The King and I in the United States and Canada. Her debut single titled "Forevermore" was released in 2020 and has gained over 130k global listeners on Spotify. Upon release, it was featured on Spotify’s New Music Friday Indonesia playlist.
Getting casted in the musical The King and I (2018-19) made her one of the only Indonesians who has landed a role in a Broadway musical. She toured across North America and performed in 48 different cities.
She received a Bachelor of Music from New England Conservatory under the direction of notable classical music educators, including the internationally-acclaimed mezzo soprano Maryann McCormick. She has also received training from the Summer Voice Intensive in New York University (2013) and American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz (2016).
During her time in Boston, she frequently performed as a concert soloist in the historic Jordan Hall, sang in the New England Indonesian Festival at Copley Square, performed fully-staged operas in the Cutler Majestic Theater including Dialogues of Carmelites (2015), The Cunning Little Vixen (2016) and Cendrillon (2017), and performed in various intimate lieder recitals at Williams Hall.
Since then she has been performing professionally back in Jakarta while growing her YouTube channel. As a YouTube artist, Pepita has shown success through her channel growth. She is currently at 60,000 subscribers.
